Description Change not brought about by war involves using international organizations at the regional and global level to serve as peacemakers. In the last fifteen years many conflicts have been minimized or contained by using these organizations. The world is no longer bi-polar but now has multiple centers of power and influence. New leadership methods are required to prevent the most powerful nations from using their most powerful weapons. Leaders need mature attitudes and should lead by example. The United States can demonstrate this new type of leadership in the areas of civil rights and the war on poverty.
