Black radical political groups are pressuring for a turnover of power to the black majority. Towsey states that these groups are subsidized by communist powers and supported by neighboring black African countries, as well as the United States. He explains how the situation in Rhodesia has worsened since the U.S. secretary of state's Lusaka statement, which Towsey views as U.S. support of aggression. Towsey believes that the U.S. could play a useful role in helping Rhodesia towards democracy.
