Description

From attack carriers, the United States Navy carries out daily air strikes and armed reconnaissance against the Vietcong. It also performs surveillance of the South Vietnam coastline to cut off infiltration of supplies for the Vietcong. These actions support the rationale for U.S involvement in Vietnam as a means of halting communist aggression.
