The Alliance for Progress was proposed by President John F. Kennedy and formed in 1961. It serves as a cooperative organization between the United States and Latin American countries. Two years after its founding, hospitals, schools and water systems have been built and the alliance has made an impact on political, economic and social discussion and conduct in the hemisphere.
