The Department of the Interior of the United States is responsible for developing the electric power supply for the country. Some of the dams it has built are Shasta Dam, Hoover Dam, and Grand Coulee Dam. While it has the power to make decisions, the department wants to communicate with states, local entities, and private organizations to ensure that dam construction serves the best interest of the American people.
