Speaker Royall, Kenneth C. (Kenneth Claiborne) (1894-1971)
Date CreatedJanuary 06, 1948
Description

The United States effectively stopped Japan from engaging in further atrocities during World War II by means of atomic bombs. However, for the peace of the world, it is also the responsibility of the U.S. to help rebuild the nation. Reconstruction has to be conducted in a delicate way that helps revive the nation's economy but prevents it from growing too strong and risking another possible war.
