Description

Mr. Kahn had been the principal force behind airline deregulation in the 1970s (cf.

Firing Line #S337); Mr. Borman had been one of its chief opponents. Mr. Borman now

says: "I think the experiment's worked extremely well.... I read somewhere that in

1977 only 25 percent of Americans had flown. This year, 75 per cent have flown. So

we really have made available a wonderful facility to people who in any other country in

the world can't enjoy it." A good-tempered discussion of how free-market theory

actually plays out in people's lives.
