Description

Liberation theology, si o no? Father Halbert, who had served for five years as a

pastor in El Salvador, interprets Vatican II as extending "God's salvific work" beyond "the limits of the structural church." Messrs. Novak and Buckley draw the line at "Christian Marxism, a juxtaposition," as WFB puts it, "some people have as much difficulty with as, say, Christian Nazism." Along the way, we get a very well informed discussion of the background and current conditions in El Salvador and elsewhere in Latin America.
