Item Title Future of the EEOC
Speaker Perry, Lowell W.
Date CreatedFebruary 13, 1976
Description

There are laws against discrimination, yet true equality is a myth for many women and minorities. As long as there is employment discrimination, inequality will widen. One U.S. law that demands full enforcement is Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) tries to resolve and prevent discrimination. It also offers extensive technical assistance to employers trying to comply with EEO laws. The EEOC has the authority to take recalcitrant employers to United States district court.
