Description

Digitization notes:

Expose 1951-52 Box 61. Very low signal to noise ratio - even with max gain, still almost inaudible. Folder includes two drafts of typed transcription between "K" and "S". The transcript indicates that much of the conversation is "indistinct". Upon comparing the audio transfer to the typed transcription, there are indeed significant portions of the conversation missing. In the written transcript, "K" explains that he is using a "more sensitive microphone" that "I don't have to hold". "K" must have thought that this special microphone could be used to record a group conversation, but in spite of the microphone's increased sensitivity, the group discussants are still too far from the microphone to create a strong signal.
