Speaker Brzezinski, Zbigniew (1928-)
Date CreatedMay 23, 1975
Description

Brzezinski warns of global isolation resulting from a world view limited to the first, second, and third worlds of the capitalist United States, socialist Soviet Union, and post-colonial developing world. In fact, there are now four worlds, with the fourth consisting of those former third world nations that can now influence the global community. The U.S. is coming into conflict with these nations, and the Soviet Union benefits. Rather than resist this change, he suggests that the U.S. give it shape and direction by reexamining the nature of liberal democracy, and developing relations between the third and fourth worlds.
