The director is Sp5 Phil Heldon; the bass horn player in Frames 3-7 is Sp4 William Dew; the trombone player, frames 1-2, is Sp5 George Pempsell.
Photographs from this contact sheet published in the Overseas Weekly (Vol. 24, No. 8) issued March 01, 1969, along with the article titled "Everyone is out to entertain the troops in 'Nam. Here are three of the more popular but lesser known groups." The spread of the article covers pages 12-13, but the photos from this sheet (second row two left most photos) are printed on page 13 with the caption "R&R Favorites in Saigon are these musicians from the Americal Division band, directed by Sp5 Phil Hedon (below), who play for GIs leaving on R&R."
