Item Title Congressional Budget Control: New Directions for the Economy
Speaker Cranston, Alan (1914-2000)
Date CreatedOctober 23, 1974
Description

Cranston talks about the United States budget. He believes there should be an immediate halt to government spending in excess of government income. Our major crisis is the sickness of the U.S. economy. Among his political projects are the Middle Income Credit Relief Act, which would lower home mortgage interest rates, and the creation of a 16 billion acre desert conservation area in southern California. He is also very concerned about the plight of senior citizens since the bureaucratic snafu of the Social Security and Supplemental Security Income programs.
