Diary and diary notes, arranged chronologically, 1926-1927 and 1932-1937. Arnold was the US Commercial Attaché in China from 1917 to 1940. In the period covered by this diary, he was also the Chairman of the American Delegation to China Tariff Revision Commission, Shanghai (1926-1927). His book "China Through the American Window" was published in 1932, the year his second diary effort commenced.
