Item Title Only Health Security
Speaker Woodcock, Leonard
Date CreatedMay 24, 1974
Description

Woodcock talks about the current state of health care in the United States. Health care in the U.S. now costs more than $100 billion a year, which is about 8 percent of the gross national product. The cost of health care is increasing and equality of health care around the country is uneven. It is Woodcock's belief that our current health care system is falling apart at the seams and cannot be patched up. The U.S. system must be replaced by a rational system that cuts costs, ensures good quality medical care, and makes it available to every American.
