Description

Conducted by Hoover Institution Staff member Remy Squires. Describes Capp's war experiences, visit to Hiroshima in October 1945, and finding photographic film that he assumed to be of Hiroshima soon after the bombing, which was later identified as photographs of the 1923 Kanto earthquake. Capp talks about walking through the city of Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped, with particular focus on radiation and ignorance of it. The interview also touches on health issues with veterans returning from combat.
