United States Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger provides the opening remarks about the battle for liberation in the Philippine Sea led by Douglas MacArthur. Jean MacArthur is presented the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service. United States Secretary of the Army John Otho Marsh, Jr., and Philippine Ambassador Benjamin Romualdez also briefly reflect on the event.
