The answer to distrust and perception of media bias in the United States will not be solved by greater governmental regulation, but through more diversity in the news. There is currently a clash between big business and big government in which the consumer is caught in the middle. This is no more obvious than in the electronic communications industry. More competition in telecommunications and media will help bring an end to industries "heavily controlled by the political process."
