Bradley Bauer interviews Anneliese Thiedemann (nee Roggenbau) on 24 May 2005 in her home in Barsbüttel, near Hamburg. Her son, Volker Thiedemann, is present and participates in the interview.
The interview concerns her memories of growing up in both Hagenow (Mecklenburg) and Hamburg during the 1930s and 1940s, with topics including schooling in Nazi Germany, anti-Semitism, World War II, the bombing of Hamburg, living in the Soviet Occupied Zone after the war (Hagenow was located in what became East Germany), leaving for West Germany, and visits to her hometown in East Germany during the 1970s.
