Part 1:

(Before the Menchu interview, there is a dialog between a woman and a girl in French including the girl singing.)

Dialogue with Menchu begins at about 12 minutes in to the recording. Chapter I La familia. She introduces herself and her community and explains basic facts about their language, geography, etc. She covers most of the chapter in this recording but the chapter is not in the same order as the dialogue. Chapter VIII Vida en el altiplano. Cumple 10 años: ceremonia de los 10 años. In the last half of the recording she covers the beginning to the middle of this chapter, describing work related activities in the community and a typical day in the community.

Part 2:

Chapter VIII Vida en el altiplano. Cumple 10 años: ceremonia de los 10 años. She continues describing traditional work roles within the community and covers about another page and a half of the middle of this chapter. Chapter XI Educación de la niña. Ceremonias de casamiento. Leyes de los antepasados. The recording then goes to the beginning of this chapter then skips a few paragraphs and goes for a few more pages describing the process of meeting your partner, getting engaged, married and then having children.
