Chapter I La familia. She starts the conversation off here by explaining simply the nature of her life: where she lives and grew up, where and how she and her family made money, etc. Then she speaks of her father’s upbringing. Chapter VII Muerte del hermanito en la finca dificultades de comunicación con los de mas indígenas debido a la diversidad lingüística. Más sobre la vida en las fincas. Chapter IV Primer viaje a la finca. Vida en la finca. The rest of this recording is a mix of the last three chapters concerning life on the finca. Bits are taken from the dialogue to suit the needs of chapter themes. The finca was where Rigoberta and her family spent around 8 months of the year working in costal agriculture plots to earn wages to support their community far off in the mountains. Chapter X La naturaleza. La tierra madre del hombre. El sol, el copal, el fuego, el agua. The last part of this recording covers most of this chapter, except the end. She talks about sacred elements of nature like the sun, water, fire and a type of glue that comes from a tree a creates a sort of incense.
