Boyle, who spoke at the Commonwealth Club nine years ago, is speaking again to "correct some of the impressions I left then" about the Vietnam War and the Vietnamese people. He believes Americans "should be proud of our achievements in South Vietnam." However, he criticizes the American press because of statements printed at home and abroad "deprecatory of the war....[which] was a great source of embarrassment to the South Vietnamese government."
