Item Title The Real State of the State
Speaker Brown, Willie L.
Date CreatedFebruary 02, 1973
Description

Assemblyman Brown speaks out against the state of the state address by Governor Reagan. Brown denounces the decision by Reagan to veto health care coverage for Medi-Cal patients, as well as other decisions related to medical care. Additionally, Brown voices his frustration over a multitude of social service bills that were vetoed by the governor; Reagan claimed these are tax-saving issues, yet announced the lease of a five-passenger jet paid for by taxpayers. Brown believes the state should be more focused on delivering a minimum level of services to the people of California.
