Item Title A Systems Approach to Criminal Justice
Speaker Kleindienst, Richard G. (1923-)
Date CreatedOctober 27, 1972
Description

Kleindienst discusses the status and objectives of the criminal justice process in the United States, which is like a chain with three vital links: enforcement, courts, and corrections. The Nixon administration's approach to increased crime used a total systems approach that included these links, as well as a combatting the long-term breeders of crime: poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination. This approach has been effective at state, local, and national levels. Organized crime, narcotics, and white collar crime get special mention.
