Item Title Are the Railroads Dead?
Speaker Biaggini, Benjamin F.
Date CreatedSeptember 15, 1972
Description

California is fortunate to be served by the best railroads in the country, but key railroads elsewhere in the national system are in serious trouble. They need modernized conditions under which to operate and further develop. The Surface Transportation Act should be passed by Congress; it could put the surface carriers on the road back to financial health while relaxing excessive regulation.
