Contributor Kolarov, Tosho
Date CreatedNovember 01, 1990
Description

Tosho Kolarov interviews Mr. Velev (first name not mentioned) regarding a shortage of agricultural feed in Troian, Bulgaria where livestock is a major contributor to the local economy. Mr. Velev says local farmers created a union in order to assert pressure over the farm cooperative to supply private producers with feed however it has yet to prove successful. According to Mr. Velev, the only solution is the redistribution of formerly state-controlled land and agricultural supplies to their orignal owers so that they may control the production of feed. A shortage of meat for human consumption, particularly in larger cities in Bulgaria, is discussed as well.
