Description

This segment is an interview with Bulgarian scholar and politician, Dr. Petar Beron. The interview concerns Dr. Beron's forced resignation in December 1990 from both the presidency of the Parlimentary Union and the Coordination Committe of the Union of Democratc Forces (SDS) following an accusation that he was collaborating with the secret service. Dr. Beron refutes the charge as false and offers gratitude for many letters of support from "ordinary" members of the Union that he has received. He discusses his political future and the future of the SDS which, he admits, needs to resolve internal disagreements in order to effectively compete with the Bulgarian Socialist Party.
