Description

In the interview, Dertliev, Head of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party (BSDP), explains his reasons for refusing Andrei Lukanov's offer to participate in the new government without representing his party. Dertliev advocates instead for a coalition where people in the government properly represent their parties. He later expresses concern for the rise of extremist parties - stemming he says, from the difficult economic situation in Bulgaria. He cites the posssible separation of the Bulgarian Socialist Party into two wings, one of them strictly following the Marxist ideology, as an example. Neo-fascist parties are mentioend as well. Dertliev advocates for a fully democratic government with a strong social-democratic core.
