Item Title Interview with two mayors from the "City of Truth" tent camp in Sofia
Broadcaster RFE/RL. Bulgarian Broadcasting Department
Date CreatedJuly 25, 1990
Description

The interviewees refer to the "City of Truth," a civil disobedience encampment in Prince Alexander of Battenberg Square, as a form of Velvet Revolution with a specific charter and 250,000 members followers. They admit that it will eventually have to close and that engagement in the political process is the next step toward realizing the demands of the charter. "Cities of Truth" that appeared in other towns have their own specific demands and, according to interviewees, would have to be incorporated into the charter.
