Description

Pierce reports on the U.S. Treasury's role in the Lockheed project. Fearing that Lockheed would fail, the U.S. government stepped in and guaranteed loans of up to $250 million to Lockheed, which the treasury was responsible for. On President Nixon's economic program, Pierce lists eight component measures, asserts that it does not favor businesses, and explains why Nixon did not freeze interest rates.
