For many Americans, since September 11, 2001, the word fundamentalism has become synonymous with the Taliban and al-Qaida - namely radical Islam. But what about fundamentalism in the United States? In November 2004, INFORUM convened a panel to examine what the practice of an orthodox or conservative faith looks like, and whether the number of adherents who call themselves fundamentalists is on the rise in this country.
