Description

Arguing against the frontier mentality, Cunningham argues that a restoration economy is necessary for both financial and cultural reasons. He believes restoring the old benefits everyone. He cites several examples. He praises San Francisco for redeveloping former highways following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

Davis and Swanson describe the work of the Bay Institute in restoring the ecology of the San Francisco Bay.
