Components of the Safeguard system discussed by Underwood are the Perimeter Acquisition Radar (PAR), Missile Site Radar (MSR), and defensive missiles like the Sprint and Spartan. He states that this system will also help the U.S. defend against China's future thermonuclear capabilities.
