Todd, James S.
(1931-1997)
Date CreatedNovember 05, 1993
Description
Dr. James Todd explains the position of the American Medical Association on health care system reform. He says that medicine is a special interest, but one that has the health of its patients as its top interest. He is interested in four areas to ensure a proper health care system: access, choice, savings, and quality. He warns against "bean counters" in bureaucracies making medical decisions instead of doctors. He does not want doctors to be switched from "patient advocates" into simply "service providers."
