Description

O'Malley discusses Ireland's involvement with the European Economic Community (EEC) and the United States. He explains the goals of the EEC, how its members have improved the economy of Europe, and the economic benefits Ireland receives as a member of the EEC. Because of Ireland's membership in the EEC and its support for foreign investments in Ireland, U.S. investment in Ireland has increased tremendously. O'Malley sees the U.S. as Ireland's most important source of investment. He also points out the numerous advantages for U.S. firms that set up shop in Ireland.
