Speaker
Yankelevich, Tanya
Date CreatedJanuary 16, 1981
Description
Yankelevich talks about Soviet human rights and how her stepfather, Andrei Sakharov, has devoted his efforts to supporting and protecting human rights in the Soviet Union. She describes the Soviet government's repression of its citizens who have been involved in the human rights movement. In support of Sakharov's call for human rights, Yankelevich urges the West to review foreign policy priorities--by asking the Soviet government to respect the human rights of its citizens, Western countries can enhance international security.
