Speaker Williams, Harold Marvin (1928-)
Date CreatedNovember 21, 1980
Description

In evaluating the United States economy, Williams notes the causes of its failure, and suggests what Americans can do to help it recover. He also talks about how government regulations have negatively affected American businesses. Williams criticizes corporate management that only focuses on short-term results and ignores the long term. Such management decreases productivity and performance for directors, employees, and investors, even though this is essential for corporate success. Finally, Williams offers his prescription for economic recovery--the government should increase tax incentives while businesses must plan for, build, and maintain their long-term health.
