Description

In observing the instability in Afghanistan and the Middle East, Teller describes the lack of U.S. military preparedness relative to a possible Soviet threat. In addition, Teller also describes the effects that a possible war in these regions may have on manufacturing, construction, and oil dependence.

Teller's biography includes: Director and associate director, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, 1958-75; professor of physics, University of California, 1960-75; senior research fellow, Hoover Institution, 1975-2003.
