Item Title Annual Book Awards: Who Wants to Be an Author When There's Honest Work to Be Had?
Speaker Gann, Ernest Kellogg (1910-1991)
Date CreatedJune 22, 1979
Description

Gann believes that literature is the most revealing of the arts, and that you cannot write a book that is not you. Having written more than twenty-two books, Gann says he has led as many lives, because each book takes a year to write. He tells stories about how he wrote several of his books, and the lives he led to write them. Gann's point is that an author can have many adventures with pen in hand. This is the club's 48th annual book awards. Gordon A. Craig receives a gold medal in non-fiction. Other winners, all silver medals, are Sheila Moon, Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, Dale Fife, David Rains Wallace, A. Scott Berg, and Charles W. Jones.
