Speaker
Quinn, John R. (John Raphael)
(1929-)
Date CreatedNovember 22, 1978
Description
Quinn explores the definition and implementation of public morality. Public morality addresses the issues, decisions and actions that affect the public good. While shaping public morality is difficult due to the complexity of the issues and the pluralist character of society, he suggests how to resolve such matters. Quinn then applies these principles to the SALT II agreement being negotiated with the Soviet Union. He encourages the negotiators to think not in terms of weaponry and power, but with moral vision.
