Date CreatedJune 30, 1978
Description

Hooks explains why he left the Federal Communications Commission to join the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). It is his personal faith that the United States can move toward the completion of the American dream. He talks about the founding of the NAACP and defends its record of success. It is the only civil rights organization in the U.S. that gets most of its support from the black community. The NAACP will continue to work within the system; it needs everyone‘s support.
