Speaker
Kahn, Herman
(1922-1983)
Date CreatedJune 02, 1978
Description
Kahn believes that democracies cannot survive the good intentions of their crusaders. Democracy is fragile form of government that usually does not work. Kahn discusses limits to growth propaganda and states that the Hudson Institue believes that the world population will settle out at about 10 billion, with $20,000 per capita income--a wealthy and sustainable world. The Institute is 95 percent sure that industrialization has a happy ending, unlike what is taught in school. Kahn itemizes nine issues at the center of current controversies and ten great issues of the future.
