In the past 30 years, the presence of the United States has been vital to preserving stability and order in Asia. The U.S. is by far Hong Kong‘s largest trading partner. More people from Hong Kong are educated in the U.S. than in any other foreign country. Hong Kong is small in area, with no significant natural resources, but it has a superb harbor. Roberts talks about Hong Kong‘s trade and political history, and stresses its stable and predictable government. Lastly, he discusses Hong Kong;s future, focusing on foreign trade and investment, and its relationship with China.
