Description
Agnew talks about the first quarter of the Nixon administration‘s first year. The administration has pressed ahead with its first priority, securing an honorable peace in Southeast Asia. He discusses Nixon‘s fiscal and monetary policies in relation to averting inflation. The decision by Nixon to develop the Safeguard defense system as a strategic alternative will ensure the interests and safety of the United States. He asserts that the deployment of antiballistic missiles (ABMs) by the U.S. is the most viable way to guarantee the balance of power with the Soviet Union.
