Speaker Kuehnelt-Leddihn, Erik von (1909-)
Date CreatedNovember 29, 1968
Description

Democracy is discussed in terms of its inability to function optimally in large states. This is a result of many factors; not the least being how informed a given populace may be. Von Kuehnelt-Leddihn explains that democracy has no inherent liberal values that provide individual freedoms. Moreover, it is a "universal weasel word" that has been used in association with facism, communism, and Nazism; an example is Hitler‘s "German democracy."
