Item Title Revolt of Youth: Its Meaning for Industry
Speaker Kolker, Berndt
Date CreatedJuly 26, 1968
Description

Kolker looks at the non-violent, ideological revolt against the traditional value system. He analyzes how this revolt is rooted in political, socio-economic, and technological environments. He argues that traditionally society has educated its youth in history in order to provide a sense of stability. He believes the contemporary youth have lacked this sense of stability education and are only forward-thinking. Following, Kolker looks at the targets of the revolt, which he says the youth look at as "the establishment." He argues the youth revolt is over values, not procedures. As an impact on industry, the speaker believes industry will have to adapt its practices to this group.
