Item Title Peace: What are the Chances?
Speaker Allen, Richard V.
Date CreatedApril 26, 1968
Description

The speaker believes that the United States military commitment in Vietnam is solidly rooted in international law. Allen presents four alternatives to end the Vietnam War. By withdrawing and supporting the establishment of a coalition government, the U.S. runs the risk of repeating in Vietnam what happened in eastern Europe. Peace in Vietnam will not necessarily result in world peace.

Allen was senior staff member, Hoover Institution, 1966-68; U.S. President Richard Nixon‘s foreign policy coordinator.
