Description

Because of the increasing cost of state government in California, Governor

Reagan initiated a survey on efficiency and cost control. Both the number

of state employees and the amount of state expenditures have increased at a

faster rate than the state's population. The survey team recommended two

thousand specific cost savings that could save California $250 million

annually. Pryor was the chairman of this survey and reports on the

commission and its findings.
